Ian Larkin, Managing Director

Ian has over 15 years of experience in private equity. Prior to forming Maranon Capital, Ian was at American Capital Strategies, Ltd. from April 2003 through June 2006. Ian was a Managing Director and served as a member of the American Capital Investment Committee. While at American Capital, Ian served on the boards of directors of Kester, Milton's Baking Company LLC, SmithBucklin and nSpired Natural Foods, Inc.

Ian’s experience also includes 11 years with William Blair Capital Partners, the last seven years as a Managing Director. William Blair Capital Partners is a private equity fund based in Chicago with over $1 billion in capital under management. While at William Blair Capital Partners he invested in 15 lower middle market companies. Ian served on the board of directors of American Blind & Wallpaper Factory; Apropos; CARA; Extended Care Information Network, Inc.; Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; SmithBucklin; CADSI; and Sweetwater Sound.

Before joining William Blair Capital Partners in 1992, Ian spent three years working in investment banking at William Blair & Company and Dean Witter.
