Maranon Capital Seeks Senior Fund Accountant
Maranon Capital is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant with strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Record interest and other cash and non-cash activity to Maranon Funds’ general ledger
through the QuickBooks software; - Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures for Maranon funds;
- Assist with the quarterly valuation process of the funds’ investment portfolios;
- Participate in the creation of the funds’ internal and external reporting package;.
Assist with all fund related activities including:
- Capital calls
- Distributions
- Requests for Information
- Maintaining Accounting, Tax and Subsidiary Records
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- CPA, loan operations experience or financial industry / banking experience preferred;
- Three to seven years of relevant finance or accounting experience;
- A background in fund accounting and/or loan portfolio data management a plus;
- A background in tax and/or structured vehicles a plus;
- Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting and loan terms and structures;
- Analytical abilities in a data-intensive environment;
- Entrepreneurial drive — desire to be a member of a growing business and contribute to its success;
- Highest professional and ethical standards;
- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven environment;
- Flexibility and interest in promoting change with the ability to develop and implement "best practices";
- Must be effective working in a team setting, taking ownership and direction, as appropriate;
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of ILevel, Sentry and QuickBooks not required but a plus;
- Knowledge of SEC and RIA regulatory environment a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
